The Nebraska Agricultural Youth Institute (NAYI) is an annual conference put on by the Nebraska Department of Agriculture and the Nebraska Agricultural Youth Council (NAYC) for high school juniors and seniors to promote future careers and agricultural opportunities.
KAAPA believes in promoting the future of agriculture, acting upon this belief by having strong ties with NAYI through sponsorships and a representative speaker. Each year, KAAPA sponsors and attends NAYI, presenting about the importance of agriculture, and KAAPA’s role in the industry. KAAPA donates with the goal of further continuing youth education about ag. This organization is especially important to KAAPA, as NAYI has hosted our employees, past and present. Chuck Woodside, CEO, attended NAYI when he was in high school, and (a few) of our board members served on NAYC. Grant Dahlgren, merchandiser, was part of NAYC during college and continues to show support as a KAAPA representative at the conference. The legacy continues with Sam Cederburg, merchandising intern, who serves as a NAYC councilor, educating the future generation on ag literacy.
In the future, KAAPA continues to keep supporting and participating in NAYI, as well as the belief in the future of agriculture. As a farmer ran business, it is important to KAAPA to spread the knowledge of the company’s foundation.
